Malt mills and conveyor belts
The mill is one of the main elements of a microbrewery. The milling of the grains is the first step in the preparation of the wort. The objective is to break the malt grains without turning them into flour to favor the transformation of starches during the mash, and to preserve the husk to favor the retention of particles during the lautering process. The mill is usually scaled in relation to the size of the brewhouse or the daily production volume, the capacity is defined in kg/h. At SlowBeer we offer mills from 75kg/h up to 2,000kg/h. The system can be integrated with a conveyor belt that takes the milled malt directly to the brewhouse.
